More delays in murder case against Onion Lake woman

The case against an Onion Lake woman accused of killing Braden Alfred James Sparvier, 26, continues to be adjourned.
Shari Heathen, 27, was scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on Jan. 25 to elect how she wants to be tried but the matter was adjourned to March 8. She was also scheduled to enter an election on Nov. 23 and Dec. 21, 2020.
Heathen was arrested in July 2020 and charged with second-degree murder in connection to Sparvier’s death. His body was found Jan. 1, 2020, along a road in the R.M. of Frenchman Butte, which borders Onion Lake Cree Nation.
RCMP say the investigation into Sparvier’s death is ongoing and they encourage anyone with information to call Turtleford RCMP at 306-845-4520. Information may also be submitted anonymously to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitting a tip online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
